New Permits
- Q. What is the process to apply for a permit?
- A. Create an WCC permit system login or sign in.
- Select New Permit from the menu.
- Select the Preserve Area.
- Provide information as requested for the various items and boxes.
- Select your Date and Site (e.g., Hiking, Camping or Caves (depending on the Preserve). You can add multiple sites to the same permit request using the + sign.
- Select the number of adults and minors under the age of 18 (In California, under the age of 19).
- Click Submit.
- You will receive an email immediately with a link to sign your documents. Allow email from

- Permits are not reviewed until all the members of your party have signed a release. Parents/guardians must sign a release for minors.
- You will receive your permit via email with further instructions.
- Q. . Do you charge to visit preservers?
- A. No. WCC does not charge to visit our preserves. We ask for donation when you are requesting a permit and signing a release to help us pay to continue to care for these amazing places.
- Q. Can I get a permit for the same day?
- A. Probably not, unless pre-arranged. All reseases must be signed and then the permit approved by the manager, Plan ahead. It is HIGHLY recommended to request your permit and have all releases signed at least 2 days before your trip.
Existing Permits
- Q. I need to change the number of people in a group?
- A. If the permit has not been approved, you may change the number of people in a group.
- Log into the permit system
- Look in My Permits
- Select the permit you would like to change
- Change the number of adults/minors going
- Select Submit
- If the group is increasing in size, it is very important to get releases signed for the additional visitors. A permit cannot be approved until everyone in the group has signed a release.
- Q. My permit hasn’t been approved yet. What’s the status?
- A. Be sure everyone in the group has signed a release. The system does not notify Preserve Management Teams that a pending permit exists until all the releases have been signed.
- Q. I didn’t receive any email from my permit request. What happened?
- A. Check your SPAM or Junk folders in your email program.
- Q. What happens if all my releases are not signed?
- A. Your permit will not be approved. If the group size has changed, open the permit (My Permits). and change the group size.
- Q. What happens if not all my group show up?
- A. Please contact the Manager and they will change the group size. (Helps us keep better records.)
Release (Liability Waiver)
- Q. My child is going on a trip with another adult. How do I sign the liability waiver?
- A. Follow the link sent to you by the group leader. Enter your name and email address and check the box that you are not going on the trip but signing for your minors. Enter the minors name in the appropriate box. If you have more than one minor you are signing for, select the + sign and add the other name(s).
- Q. Will I get a copy of the release?
- A. Yes. A PDF copy is emailed to you.
- Q. I didn’t receive any email from my permit request. What happened?
- A. Check your SPAM or Junk folders in your email program. It is possible that you entered you email incorrectly.
